ID # Special Characteristics Each photo shows a different side or end of specimen.

Fulgurite D-2

$8

Nice white, black and clear glass, plus a hint of green. Good bubbles, one branch nub, and nice rock grain on the outside. The glass at one end is an unusual shape, as if it kept flowing after a portion of the shell cracked away.

NOTE : Cleaner and brighter than in photo.

Fulgurite D-7

Fulgurite D-8

$22

This is a standard cylinder, but with a curious nubby exterior. Some of the nubs are tiny branch stubs, others are larger rock grains bristling out from the surface. One end has an impressive bubble lined with black glass, the other end has an assortment of smaller bubbles and white and black glasses.

About 1 3/4" x 1"

Fulgurite D-8

Fulgurite D-9

$12

A super and unusual specimen with a partly flattened shape and lots of small branch nubs. Some glass and small bubbles are exposed in the nub ends. The exterior has a nice variety of rock grain sizes and even some lichen for an accent.

About 1 1/2" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-9

Fulgurite D-10

A standard cylinder with attractive salt-n-pepper exterior, moderate bubbles and glass at one end, and a monster glass-lined bubble at the other end.

About 1 1/4" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-11

Fulgurite D-12

$14

The first thing you’ll notice about this one is the heavy rock grain on the outside with a large rock chunk standing out like an iceberg in pan ice. One open end has a large bubble in green glass. The other end has small bubbles in a white-clear-green matrix.

About 1 1/4" x 1"

Fulgurite D-12

Fulgurite D-13

$14

A nice branch fork. The largest open end has large black-glass bubbles. The biggest fork has an impressively deep bubble lined with brownish-black glass. Two smaller openings have green, white and black glass. A quarter inch white rock embedded in the dark grey exterior surface is a nice highlight.x

About1 1/4" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-13

Fulgurite D-14

$22

The larger open end is a mass of interconnected small bubbles lined with white and clear glass. The smaller end is very unusual in that it looks like it was seared all the way across. The crackled solid glass mass is primarily clear and black glass, but there are hints of a bright green glass (different from the olive green usually found).

About 1 1/4" x 1"

Fulgurite D-14

Fulgurite D-15

$22

Very nice green glass exposed on both ends of this classic cylinder. It also has exposed black and white glasses and nice bubbles. The exterior has a nice white rock chunk that contrasts nicely with the dark grey material around it. NOTE : The specimen is now clean and bright, this is not represented in the photo.

Fulgurite D-16

$22

A well-formed specimen in the classic shape. Has a very large open bubble in each end. The two bubbles are so deep that they nearly connect in the middle of the cylinder, each has a lovely tube with visible glass. The break at one end is at an angle, which means that it nicely displays the glassy bubble and the various glasses that form the shell of the fulgurite.

About 1 3/4" x 1"

Fulgurite D-16

Fulgurite D-17

$12

Primarily white and clear glass on the exposed ends, with a touch of black and brownish. One end has a large glass-lined bubble. The other end splits into four stubs, with small bubbles and exposed glass. Standard salt-n-pepper exterior.

About 1 1/4" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-17

Fulgurite D-18

$22

Nice FAT cylinder. The beefy exterior has a couple large chunks of rocks embedded in it, one black, one white, several multicolored – very interesting. One end has a selection of smaller bubbles and glasses. The other end, though, is the Winner! with a good group of larger bubbles, the biggest lined with clean green glass.

About 1" x 1"

Fulgurite D-18

Fulgurite D-19

$16

Nicely exposed green and white glasses at the two ends and a variety of smaller bubbles. There are three branch stubs, two are nubs with an open bubble, the other is longer and looks like a real branch. The exterior of the specimen has a couple larger embedded rock particles, one of them a good 1/3 inch across.

About 1" x 1"

Fulgurite D-19

Fulgurite D-20

$18

This large fork has an impressive array of larger glass-lined bubbles with really nice and glittery black and clear glass. Good rock grain on the outside shell. A very unusual thing about this specimen is that it has a pink rock embedded in the exterior shell – pink is the color of the parent soil and rocks before the lightning strike changes it to grey. This little pink rock was close enough to be stuck in the melted glass, but did not change colors.

About 1 1/4" x 1"

Fulgurite D-20

Fulgurite D-21

$18

This is an unusual branch termination with an odd spreading and bulbus closed end. The other, open end is even more unusual because it has a nice section of brown glass. Also present are black and white glasses, a small branch nub and several places where surface bubbles expose the interior of the shell.

About1 1/2" x 1"

Fulgurite D-21

Fulgurite D-22

$12

A nice long cylinder with some interesting stuff going on. One end has a very large and deep bubble with some impressively colored (though small areas) green and brown glasses. The other end pinches closed. The exterior is curiously riddled with very small holes in a number of places, exposing shiny glass.

About 1 1/2" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-22

Fulgurite D-23

$10

There is a lot going on in this small specimen : it is either where two separate branches fused together or where one flattened branch splits into two smaller branches. Some glass and bubbles at the three exposed ends, interesting shape overall, lovely bright lichen.

About 1" x 1"

Fulgurite D-23

Fulgurite D-24

$22

This is a fragment of the outer shell of a very large fulgurite. It has positively gorgeous black, white and clear glass and bubbles – wonderful! The exterior surface also has a treat in the form of several pink granite rocks embedded in the surface – pink is the color of the parent soil and rocks before the lightning strike changes it to grey. These little pink rocks were close enough to be stuck in the melted glass, but did not change colors.

About 3/4" x 1 1/4"

Fulgurite D-24

Fulgurite D-25

$8

The classic shape, with multiple moderate-sized bubbles on one end. It has some larger rock particles in the outer shell, lending interest to the specimen shape and color.

About 1 1/2" x 3/4"

Fulgurite D-25

Fulgurite D-26

This is the actual fork where one branch splits into two, a robust example strong enough for enthusiastic handing-around. The single end has a nice mix of small bubbles and black, white and clear glasses. The double end is similar. There is variety in the size of rock grains in the outer shell.

About 1" x 1 1/4"

Fulgurite D-26

A perfect hollow tube! Inside nicely glassed, outside clean and thick enough to be a hand-around specimen.
