Fulgurite Set-0 $ 365

EXCELLENT huge 12-piece set that fits together perfectly. It exhibits all the fulgurite characteristics you could hope for - a great exhibition specimen. Assembled, it would measure around 18" long and several inches across the widest end, with a number of branches or branch stubs. The whole set is shown in the top photo, the other photos are close-ups of portions of the set.

There are numerous very large blocky rocks embedded in the matrix - it is rare to find such large rocks so perfectly included in a fulgurite. It is easy to look at this specimen and picture the raw energy of a lightning bolt fusing the unconsolidated rocky soil where it struck. Also present are many open ends and branch stubs, large and small, showing great samples of bubbles and black, green and white glasses. Some areas are obviously scorched.

You will not be disappointed with this set!

Fulgurite Set-2 $95

Another great, large 3-piece set. This sample has a large, protruding branch as well as a number of shorter, smaller stubs. There is a pair of handsome pale cobbles on the display face of this fulgurite. Nice glass and bubbles at exposed ends. 1.5" diameter throughout.

Fulgurite Set-4 $42

Lovely 2 piece set with abut 1-1.5" diameter.

Similar to set 3 in that is has excellent small cobbles and branch stubs, good bubble and nice pale glass. It has an unusual, partly flattened shape. One side is darkened, which is characteristic of fine fulgurite samples.

Wonderful exterior charring, with a super variety of embedded rock fragments and a whole bunch of branch nubs. One end shows where it changed from one smaller branch to six tiny branches and essentially fizzled out there. Each of the two other major branch stubs also split into several tiny nubs – perhaps the soil was a bit different in this zone to produce such a form three times in a small area. The glasses are primarily white and clear, with a few small splashes of black. Nice bubbles including a big central bubble in one end exposure. Glue these together or keep them separate, they would be interesting and lovely either way.

Together in one piece, it measures about 3” x 1”

Fulgurite SET-6

A super fat fulgurite section fused to a rock that still shows the pink-orange of the parent granite rock. Nice charring, crisp and clean end exposures, several good branch stubs and an interesting shape. Glasses are primarily clear and white, with a bit of black and a hint of green. LOTS of interesting detail in this specimen!! Glue these together or keep them separate, they would be interesting and lovely either way.

Together in one piece, the fulgurite measures about 3” x 1”

The rock is about 1.5” x 1” x .75”
