: Economic Geology journal
Incorporating The
American Geologist
and the bulletin of the Society of Economic Geologists. |
 |
A semi-quarterly journal (8 issues per year)
devoted to geology as applied to mining and allied industries.
Early issues measure 9.5x7", with about 100 pages, several
feature reports and a few other shorter articles. Very complete
bibliographies for each paper. Very detailed, some formulas,
charts, diagrams, and photos. Issue number 8 (December) of
each volume has an index for that volume. BOUND volumes have
a table of contents for all 8 issues at the front. (Individual
issues and bound volumes are the same size - that isn't clear
from the photo to right). Later issues (after 1960) measure
10.5x8" and have a larger number of reports, discusssions
and reviews.

Condition:
These journals are in good condition for their age.
The covers were cut larger than the page block, and the cover
edges are tattered where the covers overhang. This makes these
journals look a little rough, but it is common to almost all
Economic Geology journals of this age. The spines are tanned
or faded, some covers are sun faded and some have an owner's
name. Many are UNCUT = never used. BOUND volumes have lightly
rubbed spines, bumped corners and owner's name inside. Newer
issues do not have the larger cover, so look neater.. |
