This journal is published monthly, (with a few special additional issues), and is devoted to various aspects of geology. Each issue has 5-10 feature reports or more and a few other shorter pieces such as reviews and memorials. The articles are detailed, with footnotes, references, some formulas, charts, diagrams, maps and photos.

Bound issues : These measure 10x6.5" and contain either three or six months per binding. These have many nice photographs, plates and illustrations and some fold-out plates, maps, figures. I have listed some of the fold-out maps below. Parts 1 and 3 have a combined table of contents and list of illustrations in the front that incorporates all of the included issues for the half-year. Index in part 2 for Jan-Jun and in part 4 for July-Dec.
They are in very good condition for their age, tight, and clean inside, with lightly rubbed and sometimes lightly soiled green cloth covers. A few of the maps have been carefully colored in with colored pencil. The edges of the page block are often lightly darkened or soiled, the top edge is usually speckled. The maps are generally in very good condition, though some have been folded an extra time to fit in the too-tight pockets. Corners and spine ends often lightly bumped. Some have a faint scent of damp. These bound journals have been lightly used, if at all.Please ask if you want more a detailed description for any given issue. I have mentioned any specific problems, if any, in the individual listing.
