Each bulletin is an in-depth professional scientific paper on one or more topics with illustrations and references. These papers measure 6" x 9" and are softcover unless otherwise noted. See also our Bureau of Mines page, which has very similiar bulletins. A very few USGS bulletins are listed with the state they describe. I sometimes listed only total pages and fold-out or folded plates. If you need to know more about other illustrations, please ask.

A listing like "24 plates (3 in pocket)" means 24 total plates with 21 plates bound in text and 3 folded in pocket.

Published by the Government Printing Office, Washington D.C.

Condition: Unless otherwise noted, these bulletins are in good to very good condition. They may have spines darkened or sunned, a few minor edge chips in older copies. Most have filing marks and/or stamps on cover. Covers may be lightly rubbed or faintly soiled, corners and spine ends may be lightly bumped. A few have a library pocket in back. Pertinent additional individual condition notes appear with each item. Please ask if you have questions.
