Atlas Southern Anthracite Field, Part 2 : 1889 : Contains 13 mine sheets relating to that part of the Schuylkill Coal Basin in the vicinity of Tamaqua, Tuscarora, Patterson, Middleport, New Philadelphia, Port Carbon, Pottsville, Saint Clair, New Castle, Morea, Frackville, Gordon, Mount Pleasant, Hecksherville, Minersville, Westwood, Llewelllyn, Forestville, Swatara, Newtown and Blackwood in Schuylkill county, Pennsylvania. Showing the surface features and mine workings. On a scale of 800 feet to 1 inch, 1:9,600. The folded color maps are in a hardshell binder, with black cloth covered boards, that ties shut around the plates. The binder opens out flat when untied and has a list of the plates and an index map showing plate coverage on the lining paper. SCARCE. (Condition : Good. Maps are in nice condition for the age, edges (when folded) are somewhat darkened, creases may have some weakness or separation (especially at double folds) but are usually intact and strong enough to open maps out and refold. Binder cloth has light wear, inside taped. Some library marks inside). $48

9x6", illustrated, folded color maps.
Printed in several formats over the years, with several variations on the title of the "Atlas" Series, but they are all the same series.
Technical reports on the geology and mineral resources of areas of approximately 50 to 200 square miles.
Most of the reports include a book and at least one large-scale, full-color geologic map.
Please ask if you need a specific format of the printing and my description does not make it clear.
